How to Print Documents, Pictures, Files & Others from Android/Tablet Devices

Smartphones and Tablets are often viewed as media consumption devices, sometimes you may want to print out movie tickets, boarding passes, scan/documents, pictures or whatever. Android doesn’t have the native printing functionality built into the core operating system, but a Google app and a connected printer will let you print photos, Google Drive files and almost anything via the Chrome browser.
It uses a free service from Google called “Cloud Print”. You’ll need a Google account and a separate PC with a Chrome browser and an attached printer. You’ll also need a free app for your Android device.

First, configure the PC that has a printer attached

• Open the Chrome browser installed on your PC. 
• If not already signed in, sign in to your Google account by clicking the menu button in the far-right upper corner and then select “Sign in with Google.” 
• After signing in, return to the Chrome menu page and click “Settings”. 

  

• At the bottom of the Settings page, click “Show advanced settings”. 

 

• Scroll down to the section “Google Cloud Print” and click the button “Add printers”. 
• A confirmation page will open. Click “Add printer(s)”. Internet-enabled printers will not need this step. 
• A Cloud Print web page will open where you can make further configurations of your printers, if desired. 

• The Google Cloud Print section of the Chrome Advanced Settings page will now have two buttons, “Disconnect printers” and “Manage printers”.
  

Next, set up the Android device that you want to print from 

• Download and install Cloud Print app from Google Play Store.
•  Open the Cloud Print app and it should automatically add your Google account, otherwise sign in to Cloud Print with your Google account.. 
• Click Print at the top of the Cloud Print app, then select Google Drive or Gallery. 
• Print from a Web page by clicking settings within Chrome, then Share > Cloud Print. 
• Select an image or file you’d like to print, and click the print button once more.  
• Select your printer from the list and your file will be waiting for your printer in no time. 
  

You should now be able to print from any apps that allow sharing. The PC and/or the printer do not have to be on when you want to send a print command. The print job will be queued at Google Cloud Print until you turn the PC and printer on. You can check what print jobs are waiting by clicking the Chrome “Manage printers” If you do not want your printer to always be connected to the Internet, simply click the "Disconnect printers".

How to Install VCOM Drivers On You PC

VCOM driver is an essential tool which gives support to installation of firmware or flashing of files in MediaTek’s MT65XX phones. Without the needed  drivers being installed on your windows PC, flashing your MediaTek phone using SP flashtools or any other recommended tool might not work out properly as expected and you might wonder what's going on or how is it really done.

In this tutorial, I'll be guiding  you through the process on how to install MediaTek USB VCOM Drivers on Windows vista, windows 7, windows 8, windows 8.1 and windows 10.

10 Quick Steps To Install MediaTek USB VCOM Drivers on Windows PC

1. Download MediaTek USB VCOM Drivers Here, and extract the folder to your desktop screen or menu.
2. Goto “Control Panel” and search for “Device manager”. 
3. After that, click on any driver group, then click on Action >> Add legacy hardware.
   
4. Pop-up showing “Welcome to the Hardware wizard” displays, click Next
   
5. Another interface of the wizard screen comes, and then selects second option to install hardware manually.
   
6. When you get to another screen as seen in the image below, Click Next.
   
7. Once you get to the next screen, click on Have Disk.
   
8. After that, install from disk, simply browse and locate the folder you extracted in step 1, and open the Drivers >> USB VCOM driver >> then select your operating system. If your operating system is 64bit, select the .inf file for 64bit, same applies to 32bit. Also select .inf file of windows 7 if you’re using windows 8, windows 8.1 or windows 10.
   
9. Now, getting to the next screen, select “MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port” and click Next and getting to another screen, click Next. 
   
10. The installation process will take few seconds, and after installation click Finish.

How to Fix Battery Drain Issues on Android 7.0 Nougat

Google has acknowledged the battery drain issue on Nougat over at Android issue tracker here.
Some users have also reported the device awake time to be unnecessarily larger, meaning the device has trouble going to doze mode and hence the reduced battery life on Android Nougat.

Users also created a poll to know how many users are affected by this battery drain issue on Nougat. Check it out below:

Common Battery Drain Issues on Nougat

• Unnecessary battery usage by Android OS
• Larger Awake time (green bar) in battery usage graph.
• 5 times more battery drain with Bluetooth on Nougat compared to Marshmallow.
• Too much battery usage by Wi-Fi on Nougat.
• While we don’t have fix for all these battery issues on Nougat, but folks over at reddit have found a workaround to fix the majority of these issues.

Important:
The proposed solution on this page to fix battery drain on Android 7.0 Nougat are only a workaround. We still don’t what exactly is the issue of battery drain on Nougat, guess we’ll just have to wait for Google to officially release a patch.


How to Fix Android Nougat Battery Drain Issues

1. Disable Ambient display: Go to Settings » Display » turn Off Ambient display toggle.
2. Disable Adaptive Brightness: Go to Settings » Display » turn Off Adaptive brightness toggle.
3. Remove Body Sensors permission for Google Play services:
4. Go to Settings » Apps » select All apps from the dropdown.
5. Select Google Play services from the list of apps installed on your device.
6. On the App info page for Google Play services, select Permissions.
7. Turn Off Body Sensors permission for Google Play services. If it gives you a warning, select “Deny anyway”.
8. Reboot phone.

That’ all. This should hopefully resolve battery drain issue on your Nougat running device.
